In our fast-paced, digital world, it’s increasingly difficult to make space for shared experiences that truly nurture the family bond. The remedy? Exploring the therapeutic and creative potential of pottery in a communal setting. At Abu Dhabi Pottery, our innovative family group sessions provide the perfect setting for families to reconnect through the mindful practice of pottery.
Art Therapy and Pottery

While art therapy is widely praised for its ability to promote self-expression and emotional healing, the unique art form of pottery offers something extraordinary. As you gather around the pottery wheel, any distractions from daily life gently fade away. Your hands become immersed in transforming a simple lump of clay into an object of purpose and beauty.
In this zen-like state of creative flow, family members organically begin to open up. Stories are shared, jokes are swapped, and new levels of understanding blossom. The act of creating something together from raw materials taps into our primal appreciation for shared experience. Bonds are strengthened through patience, collaboration, and the pride of seeing beautiful artworks gradually take shape.
Nurture Your & Your Family’s Creativity from the Ground Up
What makes Abu Dhabi Pottery’s classes truly special is our Master potter, Homa Vafaie Farley, who has gained global recognition as one of the 69 notable alumni of the prestigious Glasgow School of Art. Homa’s passion for pottery began in her youth and blossomed into a lifelong creative journey.
Today, Homa has carefully designed our family group sessions to instill the joys of working with clay no matter what the age. In our bright, inclusive studio spaces, you are free to explore your imagination wholeheartedly.
The benefits of pottery extend far beyond sparking artistic skills. As you learn to shape clay into three-dimensional forms, you build concentration, fine motor dexterity, and problem-solving abilities. The satisfaction of transforming a simple ball of clay into something beautiful teaches valuable lessons in patience and commitment. Most importantly, you discover the confidence to embrace your artistic identity.
Reawaken Your Creative Spirit

Our family group sessions provide a judgment-free haven for people of all skill levels to embrace their senses of wonder and creative freedom. Under Homa’s expert guidance, you’ll be amazed at the intricate, stunning works of ceramic art you can create.
If you’re a parent, this artistic rebirth is an incredible bonding experience to share with your children. Quality conversation flows naturally from pottery. You may find yourselves sharing perspectives, lessons from your youth, or dreams for the future that you’ve never talked about before. Immersed in your creative flow, walls come down and wisdom is passed through generations.
Homa’s own journey and artistic philosophy are deeply entwined with her Iranian cultural heritage. As she molds clay on the pottery wheel, she channels the same handiwork as ancient Persian artisans performing this art thousands of years ago. Her classes provide a window into this rich artistic legacy, empowering students to find deep connections with their own cultural roots.
Whether you join our family group sessions as a large family or as a couple, you’ll find a warm community filled with creativity, laughter, and mutually supportive energy. Shed your stresses and rediscover your sparks of childlike wonder.
