Learn Hand Building Skills as a Beginner

For first-time pottery students, the hand building classes provide a solid foundation. Don’t be afraid of the technique; with a bit of guidance, you’ll quickly get the hang of handling the clay properly. You’ll try basic shapes like mugs, bowls, vases, and more. You’ll be amazed at what you can create.

Take Pottery Wheel Techniques to the Next Level

Once you learn hand-building methods, you can take your pottery skills to the next level with Abu Dhabi Pottery’s wheel throwing techniques. Wheel throwing allows you to create useful pottery you’ll use every day, lending a sense of pride and achievement. Starting with small, simple forms will help you build confidence. The patient and encouraging instructors will help you hone your skills.

Supportive Community and Expert Instructors

The warm, encouraging community that Abu Dhabi Pottery offers is just as important as the skills that are taught. The talented instructors include Master Potter Homa Vafaie Farley, who founded the studio in 1994 to share her pottery passion. She is also a trained pottery and ceramic designer and listed as one of the top 69 alumni of the Glasgow School of Art.

Homa has a background in ceramics and art and excels at guiding students of all experience levels in a friendly, welcoming environment. She has been working on her passion since 1980 and has been improving and helping others.

Over the years, she has explored a wide range of aesthetics in her work, but her approach has always revolved around the wheel. Without a doubt, the inspiration originated with ancient Persian forms, which changed during her time in Japan.

In 2012, one of her works was permanently displayed in the National Museum of Iran. She has participated in many exhibitions and has also won many awards in the United Arab Emirates.

During your pottery classes, you can benefit from Homa’s knowledge and experience.

The classes run six days a week, with flexible morning, afternoon, and evening time slots to accommodate busy schedules. Both individual and group sessions are available at reasonable prices.
